About Ken Gibson

AN IRISH PHILANTHROPIST COMMITTED TO FIGHTING DISEASE, POVERTY, INJUSTICE AND INTOLERANCE – GLOBALLY

Ken Gibson is a life-long philanthropist, author and business strategist. He is 100% committed to fighting disease, poverty, injustice and intolerance.

Ken is Irish but lives globally. For more than two decades, he has built a large network across Africa, Asia, Europe and North America. Ken has used that network to establish programmes that deliver positive life changing impacts for thousands of people.

His work has introduced him to the most amazing mix of people and circumstances. He has dined at tables with royalty and been equally privileged to share food with families in some of the world’s worst slums.

Ken explains: “I am as comfortable in corporate boardrooms as sitting in the doorways that impoverished Asians call ‘home’.

“I am constantly curious about and forever amazed by the world and how it works, its people, their struggles and victories, their beliefs and actions. I’m 100% committed to fighting disease, poverty, injustice, and intolerance.”

Unashamedly, Ken holds tight to his strong Christian faith but has the immense privilege to count people from all faiths and none amongst his close friends and colleagues.

“Christian compassion motivates all that I strive to achieve in the world, but what I have to offer, I share without consideration of race, religion, gender, sexuality or any other means by which some others differentiate. I am of deep conviction, but I judge nobody.”

Ken has an unerring determination to work with people from all walks of life in order to make the world a more equitable, caring, tolerant and better place.

Ken’s role as a not-for-profit philanthropy broker draws on all of his many life experiences, and the ability to listen carefully, to analyse and to anticipate, adapt and pivot. He lives and breathes in the intersection of science, faith, ethics, politics and philanthropy.

As CEO of TMTEL, Ken has developed unique expertise in senior leadership and strategic planning to achieve lasting positive change; motivating people and building partnerships; negotiating with governments and international bodies; responding to crises with agility and wisdom; implementing successful programmes in medical and international development – and all of this across four continents.

Ken is well used to bringing together scientists, social scientists, medics, politicians, community leaders, church leaders, media and, of course, people directly affected by illness, poverty and prejudice to effect lasting change.
